Key West

Hello!

Last week I posted an article about the Keys, but today I would like to tell you more about Key West!

Key West is a city in Monroe County, Florida, United States.  Key West is the county seat of Monroe County. It's also the southernmost city in the Continental United States. It contains the southern terminus of U.S.

Concerning the activities...

Between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico , Key West offers a large choice of aquatic places. The island owns the only coral reef alive in the United States. The Key West Marine Park offers beautiful spots accessible.

A couple of places to dive from:
  • Sand Key Reef
  • Joe’s Tug
  • USS Wilkes Barre (experimented divers)
If you just want to enjoy the beach, some of the best beaches
  • Fort Zachary
  • Higg’s Beach
  • Simonton Street Beach

Now... Intellectual place (haha)!

  • Key West Museum of Art & History: They are responsible for promoting the arts and history of the island and manages three cultural institutions : the Custom House Museum, the Lighthouse & Keepers Quarters and the Fort East Martello .
  • Key West Shipwreck Museum: very nice museum on the ruthless world of ships, pirates and treasures ,will help you understand the history of the keys.

But don't forget to go see the southernmost point!!

The Keys, presentation!

Hi everyone!
Today I'm taking you to one of my favorite part of Florida...

The islands of the Florida Keys run south west from the city of Miami, FL.

Key Largo : Key largo will be the first place you will meet as you drive south from Miami. you will be able to find the finest diving and snorkeling in the Florida Keys. The main attractions in Key Largo is the John Pennekamp State Park where you will be able to see the living reef but also the national marine sanctuary.

Islamorada: or "purple isles" is the next island destination just south of Key Largo, well known for its world class sport fishing. Every year they host new fishing tournaments. Islamorada is a short drive down the island chain from Miami and mainland Florida. The ‘Village of Islands’ boast is the largest Florida Keys fishing fleet.

Marathon: Marathon is known as the heart of the Florida Keys and offers many relaxing vacation resorts. Long Key is the place to visit for a beautiful park-like setting with many opportunities to fish, kayak, camp or simply just relax on the beach.

Big Pine Key: Boating is one of the number one attractions and there are many different tours and trips to Looe Key for diving and snorkeling or out in the backcountry for fishing or bird watching.

Key West: also known as the Last Resort, the Southernmost Point in the continental U.S.

Soon I'll let you know more about Key west, my favorite place...
